Levi is a drafty little cowhorse that I had the pleasure of watching work during a late summer branding not too long ago. The reference photo used for this painting was my own, but the style is inspired by one of my art heroes and celebrated Western artist, Jill Soukup, whom I studied under (online) to learn more about her approach to composition and values. I love how this piece turned out. It’s a sign of more good things to come!
